This was a fairly larger project we did for a very good customer in Huntersville. It involved the complete demo of an existing 10×10 deck that was in disrepair, in favor of a 10 x 16 screen house with an attached 10 x 6 drop-down open deck for the barbecue.
The look was to be something akin to the feel of a tropical hut one might find in Barbados with a more rustic wood look, surrounded by open-air panels of charcoal screening that even covered underneath the floor (which we installed as we built the decking)
The outside roof shingles matched the ones on the existing house; two entrances – one on either side with a screen door and a ceiling fan overhead. The ceiling follows the roofline inside and goes from 8′ at the lowest point to 10 feet at the highest.
We even installed gutters that empty into rain barrels on either corner outside to be used to water the vegetable boxes.
PROJECT INCLUDED:
* Shelving inside deep enough for small pillows and table cloths
* Self-closing hinges on either door
* Top railing which acts as a ledge around the inside perimeter
